About Us

Tidewater Services is a locally owned and operated family business servicing Naples and the surrounding areas. After spending 5 years as a water sanitation consultant for commercial pool/spa accounts for one of the world's largest chemical companies, owner Garrett Dees decided to start out on his own. He noticed that many pool service techs lacked the necessary knowledge of even basic water chemistry. That is why Tidewater Services strives to be the most professional, knowledgeable, and friendly service company. We look forward to working with you!

Paul T.

This firm saved our pool. No other company could even get it under control. Tidewater is the most dedicated, professional and cost effective firm in Naples.

Five Stars. Tidewater services is by far the best pool service company in Southwest Florida. Garrett knows pools and uses his expertise and care to make my pools look great. He is extremely professional and a pleasure to do business with. I own five vacation homes in Naples. The cleanliness of the pool is one of the most important parts to my business. I am very lucky to have found this company.

Came and performed the service that day (even though it was Memorial Day) and came back the next morning to make sure everything was ok. Our house in on the market and we had a showing the next day and the pool went from dark green to crystal clear thanks to his efforts and responsiveness. He did such a good job that we hired him to provide monthly maintenance (at a great rate).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the correct balance for my pool?
pH - 7.2 - 7.8
Total Alkalinity - 80 - 120
Calcium Hardness- 200 - 250 (gunite)
Calcium Hardness - 175 - 225 (vinyl)
Free Chlorine - 1 - 3 ppm
Combined Chlorine - 0 ppm
Free Bromine - 3 - 5 ppm
Copper - 0 ppm
Iron - 0 ppm
Stabilizer (cyanuric acid) - 25 - 50 ppm
How long should i wait to use my pool after a chemical treatment?
It really depends on the chemicals and amounts added during the treatment. To be on the safe side, we recommend waiting at least 8 - 12 hours. This is usually the time it takes for all of your water to "turnover" or pass through the filtration system.
What causes a strong chlorine odor and eye redness?
A strong chlorine odor is usually a sign that there are high levels of chloramines in the water. Chloramines are basically chlorine molecules that have attached to some form of contaminate (body oils, lotions, urine, etc.) More chlorine is usually needed to remove the chloramines from the water. Eye redness can be caused by both the presence of chloramines and improper pH balance. The human eye has a pH of 7.2 - 7.4. Eye irritation issues are more likely to occur the further away from the recommend pH range the water becomes.
Should I drain my pool?
Most experts agree that your pool should be drained every 5 - 7 years. However, a properly maintained pool should rarely have to be completely drained. Draining your pool should only be done by a trained professional under the right conditions. Exposing your pool shell to extreme heat and sun conditions can damage the shell. Draining your pool after a heavy rain storm or when the water table is high can lead to excess pressure on the bottom of the pool and cause it to literally "pop."
When should i change my pool fitler?
Regular maintenance can improve the filter life, but eventually there comes a time to replace it. Most pool cartridge filters last between 1 - 2 years under ideal conditions.
Replace your filter if...
1. The bands are broken or frayed.
2. The pleats are flattend or torn.
3. The plastic endcaps are craked or broken.
*Always lubricate the lid o-ring after servicing the filter.
